It has the ability to send text messages to other phones or e-mails addresses. This phone can even act as a modem when attached with the optional data kit. When attached to your computer you can connect to e-mail and Internet at speeds of 2.4 Kbs/s.

Iridium 9505A Data Kit contains the hardware and software required to attach your 9505A to your computer as a phone modem. This will allow you to connect to the internet via Iridium data link. The kit includes Direct Internet 2.0 software and documentation required to install and configure Direct Internet Data Service on your computer.
System Requirements - Computer running Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME, Windows XP or Windows NT 4.0.
