The Cruise 4.0 R is an electric outboard like no other. It's a 48 volt fully submersible outboard that has the thrust power of a 9.9 hp outboard motor! The efficiency of the Cruise 4.0 R is unrivalled at 51% meaning that you will get more out of your battery power than other outboards on the market.
Efficiency in electric outboards is vital and Torqeedo have made sure their range of outboards are extremely efficient. The Cruise 4.0 R has an overall efficiency of 51% which means that over half of the energy supplied by batteries is transformed into propulsive power. - What it really means is that you will be able to travel using less batteries than on other less efficient outboard motors. The Cruise 4.0 R makes use of lead batteries, usually four 12v connected in series or a extremely powerful Torqeedo Power lithium-based battery.
The Cruise 4.0 R is waterproof (IP 67) which protects it against submersion up to 1m in depth for up to 1 hour.

- Half Throttle - A speed of 5.0 knots, with a range of 20 nm over 4 hours
- Full Throttle - A speed of 6.3 knots, with a range of 12.6 nm over 2 hours
